Mr. Blitstein has been an investment banker for 20 years, representing publicly-held companies as well as family owned businesses with aggregate transaction value exceeding $2.5 billion.  Prior to establishing his own consulting firm, Mr. Blitstein served as Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at First Albany Capital, where he was responsible for new business efforts in the industrial growth sector, and was an active member of the firm’s capital commitment committees.  Before joining First Albany, Mr. Blitstein was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Safeguard Scientifics where he managed the capital raise of over $600 million from both public and private markets, established institutional awareness of the firm, and oversaw the financial reporting for over 200 portfolio companies.  Prior to Safeguard, Mr. Blitstein was Managing Director-Equity Derivatives Sales and Trading at PaineWebber, Incorporated.  While at PaineWebber, Mr. Blitstein was also the Executive Assistant to the Chairman, where he was responsible for strategy, proprietary investments, and the negotiation/integration of the Kidder Peabody Incorporated acquisition.  Before joining the office of the Chairman, Mr. Blitstein worked for six years in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group.  


Mr. Blitstein received his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and his BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
